Women in Trades Scholarship
You must submit the application form and all requested documentation by June 15th to be considered. Refer to the checklist on the application form for details of requirements. Incomplete applications and those without the requested documentation will be deemed incomplete and will not be considered. TransAlta is not responsible for lost applications. We do not return any of the documentation submitted. We recommend you keep copies for your records.
Student Waiver and Consent
The information provided in my application for the TransAlta Women in Trades Scholarship is true and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief. I understand that any false or misleading statements will disqualify me from being eligible for this scholarship and may result in repayment of any scholarship payment received. Award winners will be required to provide additional details for tax purposes, as this scholarship may be considered taxable income in your jurisdiction. I consent to the use of my name, photo, and essay content for the purpose of reporting, advertising, and promotion of the TransAlta Women in Trades Scholarship, without further compensation. I understand that TransAlta reserves the right to change, modify or cancel the Women in Trades Scholarship at any time
- Proof of enrollment in a full-time post-secondary trade program related to TransAlta’s operations;
- Transcripts of last academic year;
Please submit a maximum 500-word essay detailing:
- your academic and career goals;
- any information on community involvement and volunteerism,
including any leadership roles;
- how you plan to use your education to give back to the women
in the community;
- how you plan to keep TransAlta informed of your progress in school; and
- why you should be the recipient of the bursary.

Providing this information is optional and will not affect any decision being made on eligibility to participate in the TransAlta Scholarship program.
