AN UPDATE ON TRANSALTA’S COVID-19 RESPONSE

TransAlta owns, operates and develops a diverse fleet of electrical power generation assets in Canada, the United States and Australia. Our core business is producing safe, low-cost and reliable electricity for communities and businesses around the world.

And we take our responsibility seriously. In light of recent events surrounding the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, TransAlta is working proactively to ensure the power we generate continues uninterrupted to the thousands of homes, business and communities in our service areas.

This includes working closely with national and local health authorities, with our industry peers, partner organizations and local emergency preparedness agencies, and implementing several measures to protect the health of our employees, contractors and partners.

Our actions to date have included travel restrictions, enhanced cleaning and hygiene measures, a wide range of social distancing practices, restrictions on employees returning to work following travel, illness or potential exposure, and restrictions on contractors or non-essential visitors entering our facilities.

We take our global responsibility seriously. We will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 outbreak as it evolves and encourage everyone to act responsibly and stay informed from official sources.
