Garden Plain

The Garden Plain Wind Project is located on 14,000 acres of privately owned land north of Hanna in Paintearth County and Special Area No. 2.

Recognizing the many positive attributes that this site holds, from its desirable wind resource, environmental suitability, and proximity to transmission, TransAlta has completed permitting and regulatory requirements for the site and has submitted an Alberta Utilities Commission facilities application for the Garden Plain Wind Project

The Project has the capacity to host a 130-megawatt (MW) wind facility.

The area will continue to be used for grazing and other agricultural purposes.
