POWER - Projects Organized With Energetic Retirees

POWER is a group of dedicated and energetic TransAlta retirees and their partners who strive to improve the quality of life in communities through volunteerism. Their passion for community is exemplified by the projects and organizations that benefit from their many volunteer hours. TransAlta supports POWER by providing office and meeting space, printing services, and a TransAlta employee liaison.

The Purpose of POWER is to:

• Have a positive impact in their communities
• Enhance the lives of members through fellowship and help create a feeling of self-satisfaction
• Create a positive image in the minds of the public with respect to TransAlta, its employees, its retirees and partners

We achieve our purpose through projects targeting:

• Education
• The environment
• Improving the quality of life for seniors and those in need

TARA - TransAlta Retirees Association

Membership in TARA is open to any former TransAlta employee who has attained official retired status or any former TransAlta employee who left the company before retirement. This includes spouses or surviving spouses.
