Six nights. Five locations. One spectacular fireworks show.

Since 1997, TransAlta has proudly presented the Calgary Stampede’s nightly Lights Up the Night fireworks show. In celebration of the Stampede’s 100th birthday, we are excited to present Light Up the City, the largest and most sophisticated fireworks display in Canadian history.

During both weekends of the Calgary Stampede, Calgarians and visitors can participate in this free, fun, family-friendly event in the four quadrants of the city in addition to Stampede Park.

These international-scale fireworks occur at the same time around the city and synchronized with TransAlta’s Grandstand Show fireworks on Stampede Park.  Light Up the City is being simultaneously cast and choreographed to music presented by Corus Entertainment - Country 105, Q107 and AM770.
