National Aboriginal Day - celebrating culture and history

TransAlta was proud to mark its first ever celebration of National Aboriginal Day on Monday, June 21, 2010. 
TransAlta values a high standard of cultural sensitivity and awareness when interacting with our neighbouring Aboriginal communities. National Aboriginal Day provided an opportunity to demonstrate the company’s commitment to this standard.

The TransAlta Aboriginal Relations team presented a celebration of Aboriginal culture and history, allowing employees to experience Aboriginal cuisine, dancing and drumming, as well as receive educational information.

The celebration aimed to enhance employee and partner awareness around Aboriginal culture, recognizing the importance of knowledge and cultural awareness within TransAlta.

TransAlta is pleased to announce the Aboriginal Relations team plans to continue to organize an event recognizing National Aboriginal Day each year.
