Acquisition of Canadian Hydro makes for new neighbours and new opportunities

TransAlta and Canadian Hydro have both been leaders in developing renewable power, be it from wind, hydro, geo-thermal heat … and even, from wood waste.

In fact, TransAlta was one of Canadian Hydro’s first customers. Their first contract helped Canadian Hydro secure funding for the construction of their first three “run-of-river” power projects.

Since then, both companies have worked hard to grow in a sustainable and responsible fashion. With TransAlta’s acquisition of Canadian Hydro Developers, our commitment is to continue to grow in the very same manner.
