Public Consultation

TransAlta has been operating power plants in the Wabamun Lake area for more than 50 years. As a member of the communities in which we operate, building relationships with residents and other stakeholders and maintaining two-way communication are how we do business. Our approach to the Wabamun Decommissioning project is no different. View a list of our 2004/2005 stakeholder communication meetings, as included in our submission to Alberta Environment in December 2005. It can be downloaded in the Related Documents area of this page.

Open Houses

Our open houses are opportunities for the public to learn more about the Wabamun Decommissioning project. Open houses also provide information about TransAlta's other operations and activities in the Lake Wabamun region. In May 2008, we hosted an open house in the Village of Wabamun and asked for public input into the final phase of the decommissioning project.

If you have any further questions about the Wabamun Decommissioning project please contact our toll-free stakeholder hotline at 1-877-636-7822.
