Blue Trail

The Blue Trail wind facility began commercial operation in November 2009.

Blue Trail is located southwest of Fort Macleod, in Alberta. Permitting was completed in 2005 but construction was dependent upon upgrades to the transmission system in southwest Alberta.

At a Glance

• Location: Southwest portion of the municipal district of Willow Creek, approximately 4 km southwest of the townsite of Fort Macleod
• Technology: 22 Turbines - 3 MW each on 80 m towers with 45 m blade length (plus an existing 3 MW turbine)
