A growing portion of TransAlta’s power portfolio comes from renewable sources, including wind power. The company currently has installed capacity to generate about 1,200 MW of electricity from wind each year, or enough to supply electricity to 1.3 million homes. We generate renewable energy by harnessing some of the best green sources on earth – hydro, wind, and geothermal – and direct that power to the local electricity grid.
