Community Commitment

TransAlta is one of the largest employers in Southwest Washington. When we purchased the Centralia plant in 1999, we immediately invested in pollution control technology to make Centralia one of the cleanest coal-fired plants in the country. TransAlta and its more than 350 local employees are also committed to the community and together, have invested more than $10 million into regional projects and initiatives.

June 22, 2010 - Update - TransAlta welcomes the finalized agreement with the Washington State Department of Ecology.
