When power plants operate in regions for decades, the people and the operations become part of the social fabric of the surrounding community. TransAlta is committed to this relationship with our communities, and to supporting activities that keep our communities vibrant and strong.
Further to supplying much of the electricity used in surrounding regions, we are a large source of employment, provide work for area contractors and suppliers, support local initiatives, and have an effect on the day-to-day activities of those who live or work near our facilities.
