Industry Involvement

Everyone at TransAlta believes passionately in the power and possibilities of renewable energy. Team members have been actively involved in various industry associations across Canada for decades, diligently moving the industry forward by keeping renewable energy issues at the forefront. We have had a lasting and positive impact at the local, provincial, national and global levels with some of our work done through industry associations including:

The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA)

CanWEA represents the wind energy community across Canada. CanWEA provides leadership and support to all wind energy producers and helps the industry advance by further developing its members. TransAlta's involvement with the association dates to the association's beginning and continues to today. All three founding members of TransAlta's wind business served as CanWEA presidents.
