Job Rotations

Our New Grad program is designed to afford you with a first-hand understanding of the company at all levels. It also provides you with exposure to the many facets of the business, and introduces you to many people who can contribute to your future success.

All new grads go through four job rotations, each approximately six months in length. Three revolve around your core competency and one, typically, challenges you step outside your area of specialty, allowing you to showcase your diversity, build on your experience, and gain new insight and interests. Some new grads also have the opportunity to work in various TransAlta locations.

Personal Growth

With each six-month rotation, new grads go through a complete performance management cycle. This allows you to sit with your rotation manager at the beginning of each term and map out real world skills you expect to learn, master and apply on the job. At the end of each rotation, you'll have identified new skills and have a constructive understanding of all the strengths you bring to the table.

Does the process work?

You bet! When finished the program, many "New Grad" participants have more than one career option to pursue within TransAlta.
