I have submitted my resume but haven't heard anything?

TransAlta only contacts those candidates who have been selected for interviews.

Will I receive e-mail confirmation that TransAlta has received my application?

Yes, you will receive a confirmation once we have your application provided it was submitted online. Mailed or faxed applications will not receive a response.

Who do I address my covering letter to?

Resumes submitted online are forwarded directly to the Hiring Leader for the position. Please do not call requesting a Hiring Leader's name to address your covering letter to. Your covering letter can be addressed to "Hiring Leader".

There is more than one position of interest to me. Do I need to apply for each one?

Yes, please apply for each position of interest separately as your resume is forwarded directly to the TransAlta Hiring Leader advertising on the site.

I am interested in applying to TransAlta but there aren't currently any positions posted for someone with my background. Can I still submit my resume?

Yes. Please register on our career site and submit your application by clicking here. However, if you prefer to submit your resume and cover letter directly to an opening, we invite you to check back from time to time as new postings go up daily.

Do you have any summer employment opportunities?

Available summer student opportunities are posted on this site between February and March each year, and sometimes at local universities. This website is updated on an ongoing basis. Please check back from time to time for future positions of interest.

Do you have any opportunities at TransAlta with my background?

Please review all open positions on our website at www.transalta.com for more information.

How long does the recruitment and selection process take at TransAlta?

The process can differ in time before a successful candidate is identified. Once the posting closes, applications are reviewed for suitability. Only qualified candidates will be contacted.

If a position is no longer posted on your website, are you still accepting resumes?

Due to the volume of resumes that are accepted for open postings, we will not be accepting resumes after the posting is closed.
