President and Chief Executive Officer
Dawn Farrell became President and CEO of TransAlta Corporation on January 2, 2012. Mrs. Farrell has over 27 years of experience in the electric energy industry, holding roles at TransAlta and BC Hydro.
President, U.S. Operations
Paul Taylor leads TransAlta’s business operations in the United States. His role includes responsibility for leading the commercial coal and sustainability teams in both Canada and the United States.
Chief Financial Officer
Brett Gellner is responsible for all financial policy, planning and reporting, as well as M&A, tax, treasury, risk management, internal audit, and investor relations.
Chief Human Resources and Communications Officer
Dawn de Lima is responsible for leading the human resources, corporate communications and general services teams.
Chief Legal and Compliance Officer
John Kousinioris is responsible for directing TransAlta’s legal affairs, regulatory compliance and corporate secretarial matters.
Chief Business Development Officer
Ken Stickland is responsible for directing the corporation’s growth efforts in Canada.
President, TAMA Transmission
As President of TAMA Transmission, Cynthia Johnston will oversee the newest TransAlta-MidAmerican partnership that will focus on competitive transmission projects in Alberta. With twenty-seven years in the energy industry, Ms. Johnston brings a very skilled and diverse experience in operations, strategic planning, complex project management, stakeholder relations, economic analysis and regulation to her new role.
Executive Vice President, Operations
Hugo Shaw is responsible for the safe and effective operations of TransAlta’s coal, gas, hydro and wind power generating assets in Canada.
Executive Vice President, Corporate Development
Rob Schaefer is responsible for Corporate Development at TransAlta, which includes marketing and trading operations.
Vice President and Corporate Secretary
Maryse C. C. St.-Laurent is responsible for the procedures and conduct of meetings of the Board of Directors and its committees, as well as shareholders' meetings, corporate governance issues, corporate disclosure and securities compliance and reporting.
Chief Engineer
Bob Emmott is responsible for fleet major equipment lifecycle risk management and reliability engineering as well as ensuring TransAlta's quality assurance processes are best in class.
Vice President, Controller
David Koch is responsible for providing leadership and direction over TransAlta’s financial activities & control, principally in the areas of corporate accounting & reporting, commercial operations & energy marketing finance, generation finance, accounts payable, taxation, systems & process improvement.
Vice President and Treasurer
Todd Stack is responsible for all Treasury activities including corporate finance, credit, insurance, pensions, and foreign exchange and interest rate risk management.
