President and Chief Executive Officer
Dawn Farrell was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of TransAlta Corporation in January 2012. Dawn has 30 years of experience in the electric energy industry, having held a number of senior management positions at TransAlta and BC Hydro. Her business experience spans a variety of areas in finance, business development, strategic planning, commercial operations, energy marketing and sustainable development.
Chief Financial Officer
Donald Tremblay is responsible for all financial policy, planning and reporting, tax, treasury, risk management, internal audit and investor relations.
Chief Investment Officer
Brett Gellner oversees all strategic corporate investments, M&A, and greenfield projects. Brett was previously Chief Financial Officer of TransAlta Corporation. He is also President of TransAlta Renewables Inc.
Chief Administrative Officer
Dawn de Lima is responsible for leading Human Resources, Information Technology, Corporate Communications, Aboriginal Relations and Corporate Security, as well as overseeing the company’s General Administration.
Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary
John Kousinioris is responsible for directing TransAlta’s legal affairs, government relations, regulatory compliance and corporate secretarial matters.
Executive Vice-President, Gas, Renewables & Operations Services
Cynthia Johnston became an Executive Vice-President at TransAlta Corporation in September 2011. She leads TransAlta’s Gas and Renewable operations and oversees the company’s operations services team, including Supply Chain Management, EH&S, Operations Integrity and the project management office. Cynthia is also responsible for managing all joint ventures and partnerships relating to TransAlta’s gas, wind, hydro and solar operations and the regulated transmission business.
Executive Vice-President, Coal and Mining Operations
Wayne Collins is responsible for overseeing all of TransAlta’s coal and mining operations as well as corporate engineering and technical services.
Senior Vice-President, Trading & Marketing
Jennifer Pierce leads TransAlta's Energy Marketing and Trading business unit, which provides energy management services to commercial, industrial and wholesale customers as well as manages and markets the company’s generation portfolio.
Managing Director and Treasurer
Todd Stack is responsible for all Treasury activities including corporate finance, credit, insurance, pensions and foreign exchange and interest rate risk management.
Managing Director, Corporate Controller
Ben Park is responsible for providing leadership and direction over TransAlta's financial activities and control, principally in the areas of corporate accounting and reporting, accounts payable, systems and process improvement.
Assistant Corporate Secretary and Legal Counsel
Scott Jeffers is responsible for many of TransAlta’s corporate secretarial matters, including corporate governance, disclosure and securities compliance matters. He is also responsible for certain corporate/commercial legal matters.
