Aron Willis

Aron Willis is the Executive Vice President of Project Delivery and Construction at TransAlta Corporation. 

Aron leads the planning and execution of major projects, including the construction of new assets supporting TransAlta’s Clean Electricity Growth Plan and other major capital projects across the Company’s operations. Aron is also responsible for TransAlta’s Supply Chain Management function. 

Since joining TransAlta in 1999, Aron has worked throughout the business, accepting roles with increasing responsibility in areas including business development, finance, commercial and operations and maintenance.   

While based in Perth, Western Australia, from 2007 to 2015, Aron led the expansion of TransAlta’s business through investments totaling just under $1 billion in new contracted assets. This work included the development, contracting and construction of TransAlta’s $570 million South Hedland Power Station.   

Prior to his current role, Aron led TransAlta’s Growth team and was accountable for project development, customer origination and contracting of new investment opportunities in TransAlta’s core markets. In this role Aron oversaw the development and delivery of approximately $1.4 billion of investment in projects in Canada, the United States and Australia. Aron also oversaw a significant expansion of the Company’s development pipeline, growing it to just under 5 GW of high-quality development opportunities within three years.
