TransAlta has been very pleased to offer TransAlta's Project Planet Challenge once again this year. Back by popular demand, the contest ran again in Alberta, and for the first time in Ontario.

Project Planet Challenge encourages school-aged children to come up with innovative ways to help the environment in their community, neighbourhood or school. The actual contest ran from Jan.16 to Mar. 17, 2001. Check back this fall for details about next years contest.

Two individuals and two groups in both Alberta and Ontario have been chosen out of hundreds of entries as winners for 2001. The school-aged children will have their environmental projects implemented with help from TransAlta and will get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Wayne Gretzky.
