Volunteerism

TransAlta Community Transformers (TACT) teams are groups of regional employee volunteers who know local priorities and evaluate and manage investments into organizations in their communities.

TransAlta’s POWER group (Projects Organized with Energetic Retirees) focuses their efforts on education, environment and improving quality of life for seniors and those less fortunate.

Volunteer Hours TransAlta employees and retirees volunteered more than 12,000 hours in 2009, an increase of 19 per cent over 2008. Employees and retirees volunteered an average of 5.3 hours each.
