	Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2009/2010 – North America’s most sustainable companies, fourth consecutive year
	FTSE4Good Global Index 2009 – London-based sustainability index, fourth consecutive year
	Jantzi Social Index 2009 – listed on the index of top 50 socially responsible Canadian companies

• Conference Board of Canada – 2009 National Awards in Governance, awarded Private Sector and Overall awards
• Calgary Chamber of Commerce – President and CEO Steve Snyder honoured with the 2009 Sherrold Moore Award for his contributions to the Chamber as the chair of the Calgary Committee to End Homelessness
• United Way – TransAlta was given the Thanks a Million award for 2009; Ottawa was recognized for 10 years with 100 per cent employee participation in United Way
• Horizon Award 2009 – TransAlta, along with ICOM productions, awarded silver for creation of a unique disability management course
• Partner of the Year Award 2009 – Awarded by the Community and Technical Colleges of Washington State for TransAlta’s seven-year partnership that has added significantly to the colleges’ offerings
